The National Coal Board (NCB) Film Unit is one of Britain's most substantial and long-lasting industrial film units. The following is an informative film about how to assemble a Trunky Conveyor Belt.
Set in a coal mine, a group of miners build a Trunky Conveyor belt while a narrator explains each step that they are going through, and the method that they are using to assemble it.
The miners build part of the conveyor belt above ground, and after stopping for a quick tea break, continue constructing the belt in the pit. Each step is checked along the way, and all steps are followed to the exact measurement as they lace the belt through the machine.
When the conveyor belt is fully built, it is shown in use carrying the coal. The narrator and miners then show how to check the belt for any obstructions which could cause danger.
