Through a combination of voiceover, live footage, stills of laboratory slides, animation and diagrams the film takes the viewer through how the cancer is diagnosed and the different ways of treatment both past and present. Technological advancements have allowed the medical profession greater research opportunities to help in the recovery of a cancer if diagnosed in the early stages as once it takes a hold of the patient it tends to quickly spread and the lesions that develop on the spine and pelvis make the prognosis for the patient fatal.
An opening close up shows a patient in bed, the camera pulls back to show two doctors discussing his case , and the senior doctor asking the junior doctor what test he thinks that he should do?
