Intertitle – Haworth 1937 - Bronteland
A man walks through a gate and across a footbridge going over a stream and out onto the moors, where he sits on a rock. Some women and girls are also sitting on rocks and dangling their feet into a stream. Haworth church is shown as well as the Parsonage.
Intertitle – Keighley 1937
A couple take a walk through a park at Keighley. People sit on benches which look over flower beds. Then several people stand posing in a doorway. A couple stand in the doorway of a semi-detached house where new houses are being built. They take a walk around the house. Two boys are down by a river. One holds up a container to show to the camera. The boys arrive at the house where they are greeted by three women, and again the boy holds up his container, possibly having a small fish. A man, who looks like a coal miner, takes a look.
Intertitle – 1938
A well-dressed couple are walking with a dog down the road that has the house. They hold up the dog for the camera. A car arrives (Reg. HD 1135), from which people emerge and pose for the camera. The film switches to a carnival, with floats and people in fancy dress. The Lord Mayor’s car goes by followed by a scout’s band. More floats pass before the film switches again to a street party, where children sit at a long table laden with cakes and sandwiches. One small boy being held by a man is wearing a fancy hat. The children tuck into their tea and sandwiches, with their parents stood around the outside. The children look totally bemused by all the food.
Intertitle – Saltaire 1947
The church at Saltaire is covered in snow, as is the railway station and the Congregational Church. The river and the other sights are shown. A goods train passes by. A woman crosses a footbridge over the river, and then a passenger train goes by. Some children are out with sledges, whilst the snow is piled high around the buildings.
