Part of the Hattersley Collection, this film is a record of a family holiday to the Wye Valley.
The film opens showing the family and friends having a picnic by a river. A woman sits in a canoe that is moored beside them. After lunch three children get in the boat with the women and make their way down the river. Later they pull up by a large grass field where tents have been pitched. The children play by the water's edge before they canoe down the river again.
Later they visit a ruined castle, and the group make their way around the ruins, exploring the architecture. Various campsite scenes are shown before the group sit round and have some hot food cooked on a camping stove. The film closes with the tents being taken down, the children and a woman get in the canoe and head off down river, the camera following them as they go.
