The film opens with long shots of parades including soldiers, Wrens and members of the Home Guard. The streets are filled with crowds of people, and the streets and buildings have been decorated with bunting. The following scenes show a victory dance which is held in the streets of the city centre at dusk. A huge crowd is still gathered, and there are spotlights which have been set up for the dance in order to light the streets. The film ends with scenes of a huge bonfire which lights the town. The light from the fire gives just enough of a glow to see the crowds that have gathered all around the area, and the Griffin Hotel can be seen in the background.
