Title - A government office.
The opening shot of this film shows three suited men in an office talking. One of the men is the character of Lieutenant Blake - the narratives main protagonist. Blake's voice over states that the date is Friday the 13th and that their chief - a man dressed in a grey suit - has ordered him and his partner to deliver a top secret film to another government organisation. The chief hands them the top secret film, which they store in a leather case. Cutting away from the office scene, the agents chauffeur waits outside in a parked car. He heads into office building for a brief moment, giving a villain enough time to pour some clear liquid into his engine. Back in the office, Lieutenant Blake and his partner are briefed by their chief, before being given hand guns. They then exit the office and get into the chauffeurs car.
The following sequence shows the villains car perusing the agents chauffeur driven vehicle, and the filmmaker captures various shots the two cars driving across country roads. Eventually the agent's car breaks down and they are forced to escape on foot. The villains chase the agents across Wharncliffe Crags, and both sides discharge their mock firearms several times; the filmmakers have attempted to replicate the effect of bullets hitting the ground. In an attempt elude their captors, the agents split up, however, the Lieutenants partner is pushed of a cliff by one of the villains. In the climactic scene, Lieutenant Blake shoots both of the villains; one survives and chases him back to the road. Blake manages to hand the film to his chauffeur before being fatally shot by the villain. The final shot shows the chauffeur driving off with the top secret film, while Blake and the villain lie dead in the road. Blake's voice over utters the concluding statement, 'though we had walked through the valley of the shadow of death, we feared no evil, we did our duty'.
