Title - Winter sports Young boys wrapped up in winter clothing slide along a stretch of ice; several stunts and tricks are performed, and a teacher also shows off his skills. Vast arrays of shots capture this winter scene, and the filmmaker also experiments with different speeds: speeding up and slowing down some footage. Title - Model aeroplane contest. In a classroom, students have hung their model aeroplanes from the ceiling, and two teachers walk around inspecting their efforts. Title - The model railway. This sequence features a miniature model railway complete with village streets, line signals, steam trains, and replica stations. Title - On the river. The first shot in this sequence shows a young boy jauntily rowing his boat down the river Ouse, York. The filmmaker captures other students rowing their boats under Lendal Bridge, and also various shots of people sitting around the Ouse banks. Next, a clearly competitive rowing team power through the waters, before the filmmaker cuts to show children swimming in the river; this is away from the city, as there is sandy stretch beach.
