The film includes intertitles describing each person's attempt to break the water speed recorded as well as where that attempt took place. World Water Speed records from 1930-55 in the Lake District. The first is Sir Henry Seagrave on Lake Windermere in 1930 and his attempt with the boat Miss England II. This is followed by the tragedy when he and his mechanic lost their lives on 13th June, 1930. The next attempt is by Donald Campbell on Lake Coniston in 1949 followed by footage of John Cobb on Loch Ness in 1953. Finally there is Donald Campbell on Lake Ullswater who achieves success in Bluebird. Campbell is then interviewed after the event.
