B&W The film begins in a theatre where a series of comic cabaret pieces are being performed on the stage. The characters include men in sailor’s hats, a man in evening dress singing, and then dancing with a woman who becomes all floppy and does some comic moves, more women dancing, two women accordion players, an Al Jolson impersonation, and a stand-up comedian dressed as a postman. Some of the comedy routines are filmed from the side of the stage. This part of the film finishes with some women trapeze artists.
