Title – Yeadon Air Display 1959
An airplane takes off, with “North-South Airlines” written on the side. A flight on a light aircraft is filmed from on board, with a small boy, Adrian Walton, looking out the window at the countryside, towns and villages below. Various airplanes do acrobatics in the sky. There is an exercise of troops jogging onto a large troop carrying plane (with a big ‘X’ on it). Adrian walks near his mother with a lollipop. There are more air displays, acrobatics and formation flying.
The film switches to show a steam traction engine driving along a road in a town, followed by others. Then there is a zeppelin shaped large air balloon with a passenger compartment held underneath by ropes. A parachutist descends.
Intertitle – Model Boats 1958-60
Adrian walks down to a pool of water carrying a red and white model boat. He sits by the water with the radio controls watching the boat. There is also a model cruiser and other boats shown close up as they are sailed around the water. A man makes some repairs to one of the boats, watched by the boy. Adrian gets all excited on the edge of the water, jumping up and won in his Wellies. The engine of one of the boats is shown close up. The film moves to a different location, a pond in a park, where Adrian again plays with his model boat with his mother and father and other adult model boat enthusiasts.
Intertitle – Yeadon Air Display 1960
There is a programme for the International Air Pageant.
An RAF Transport Command plane stands on the runway. Visitors go on board to have a look. A “North-South Airlines” plane takes off, with the journey filmed from on board and Adrian looking out. Adrian sits in the cockpit. There are similar sets of exercises to that of the previous year. The Red Arrows fly in formation and do some impressive acrobatics.
