The film begins with Adrian Walton on a beach drawing. This has been double exposed with film of motorcycle racing and a plane and views over the beach. He is on the beach with his smaller sister, Gillian, who runs to the sea. They both have ice creams with their mother who is sitting on a deckchair. Adrian takes his ice cream right up to the camera.
