This is a film made by Derrick Walton of a family visit to a traction fair at Boston, Lincolnshire, and to Ribblehead.
The film begins in Boston, with a traction engine, the Garrett showman tractor, driving over the sluice gates and down the main street. There is a fairground with two girls going on various rides and people looking around the traction engine. Mrs Walton, her daughter Gillian, and another girl are next seen in a Marks & Spencer looking at dresses, before looking around a gardening centre. Then the family are on a beach, with a man and the two girls swimming in the sea. Mother is playing tennis with a young man on the road leading to the beach. There is a market with a man holding up beetroot for sale, and stalls selling bric-a-brac.
The film then moves to show a light plane landing at Boston airfield, where it gets re-fuelled and takes off again. The film ends with the family by a stream near Ribblehead viaduct. Mother stands under the arch of a bridge over a river, possibly the Ribble, where they have a picnic, with the two girls wandering around in their swimming costumes. The film finishes with mother stood by a stonewall looking at a magazine.
