The film opens with scenes on the Scarborough seafront, including a Space Ship ride. The filmmaker goes into the ride and films some of the movie which is shown to those taking part. This is followed by scenes from the North Bay where there is a waffle shop on the seafront which can be seen as well as Jaconelli's ice cream parlour. The family takes a journey on a miniature railway, and the filmmaker captures the scenic views from the area. Finally the boy rides in a rowboat in Peasholme Park before going onto the Pirate Ship.
In Whitby, the boy rides on a donkey. People are seated in deck chairs all along the beach. There is also a Punch and Judy show which takes place. As the family walks around the harbour, many fishing and pleasure boats can be seen.
