Title - Down the rapids
The film opens with views from a ship as it cruises down a river with grassy banks either side. The waves then begin to get choppy, before the boat passes beneath an iron bridge. A speed boat zips past with the driver and companion waving. The filmmaker then captures the coast as the ship drifts past land and one large building on the bank has a man-made water fall below.
Title |We arrive in Montreal.|
This sequence begins with a shot of the exterior of the 'Queens Hotel. There are then views of the street; trams and cars pass by. A wide shot then shows the countryside, and the camera pans to reveal a large white building, before there are several views of the surrounding gardens.
Title |We dismount at Westmount
A Sight Seeing Tour bus full of boys pulls up and they climb out. The filmmaker then takes numerous shots of the surrounding countryside and sea.
Title |Battle of the Roses or we play the ship's crew of Lancashire lads at cricket.
Boys coming out of a pavilion in their cricket whites and people seated in deck chairs applaud. The cricket match then gets underway with the filmmaker getting the action from the boundary.
Title | Walsh commands the heavens to assist him.
Still with the cricket match, a flash of lightening is visible in the distance.
Title | We bid farewell to Mr Rhodes.
From an elevated position, the filmmaker captures a group of men and women standing in a group waving at the camera. Many of the women wear dresses and bonnets, while the men wear suits and trilbies.
Title | Dreaming of other worlds to conquer.
Mouth ajar, a boy sleeps in his chair.
Title | The Pilot comes aboard.
View from ship out at sea, a boat approaches and comes alongside the ship. A man climbs aboard using a rope ladder.
Title | Home again.
The opening shot in this sequence shows a by plane flying overhead, before there is a shot of a sailboat idling in the calm waters of boats at sea.
Title | And this concludes a memorable trip and a glorious experience made possible only by the generosity of Mr Rhodes.
