This film is part of the Hull Maritime Museum Collection. It shows experiments on a model boat subjected to waves in a large water tank.
The film begins with someone holding a board up to the camera with the numbers'2098, B6, 13K, CONA'. A model boat (5255), with an open slot at the rear for a ramp, floats in a large tank of water. As waves are created in the tank the model boat bobs up and down. The radio controlled boat is manoeuvred through the waves.
The board is held up again, with 'Roll 2'. The same is filmed again, this time in slow motion. A couple of men are seen on the side observing, revealing the boat to be in the region of 6-8 feet long. The film shows the way the boat reacts to the waves.
The board is held up again, with 'Ballest Cond B changed'. The rear of the boat is shown, possibly with the angle of the ramp altered. Again the boat is filmed bobbing on the waves. The board is held up again, with 'Ballest Cond B changed, Roll 3'. The boat is filmed in still water and then increasing waves are created, slowing close up the water going in and out of the slot at the rear, and the film comes to an end.
