This is an amateur film produced by Gordon Houlsby of the wedding of Brian Mackley and Linda Culbertson at Glebe Methodist Church on Westoe Road in South Shields on the 17th August 1963. The film shows the couple posing for photographs following the service, arriving at the Marsden Grotto Restaurant for the reception and flying from Newcastle Airport for their honeymoon on Jersey. The film opens with a short animation of a married couple with confetti falling. Title: So We Got Married Mr & Mrs Mackley stand in the doorway of Glebe Methodist Church following their marriage service. A photographer poses the happy couple in the doorway of the chapel for a number of pictures while around them guests chat amongst themselves. The parents and other family members stand in the doorway posing with the couple before Linda climbs into the wedding car followed by Brian. Inside they smile and chat with the photographer. A man in a white coat gets into another car. The film quickly cuts to Linda climbing out of the car at the Marsden Grotto restaurant followed by Brian. Other guests make their way along the pathway leading to the venue. The film changes to show Linda out of her white wedding dress and wearing a light coloured coat and hat. A woman pours confetti down the back of her dress, Brian kisses her cheek. At Newcastle Airport Brian and Linda walk hand in hand into the terminal building. They come out of a wooden building and make their way across the runway towards a waiting BKS aircraft. Friends and family stand nearby watching as the couple climb on board via a door at the rear of the airplane, luggage is loaded via a door on one side. The propeller engines start up and the aircraft taxis onto the runway before taking off. Title: The end The film ends with three children playing on a wet pavement.
