In this amateur comedy drama by Brian Dunckley the Forfar Girl Guides - the Rangers - chance upon the hideout of some robbers in the Scottish countryside. One girl hits her thumb with a hammer. Another settles down to eat a giant bar of Aero. A Ranger has no luck trying to light the fire with matches so another grabs a canister and corals the greedy girl to go in search of paraffin. Their friend pinches some firelighters from a rucksack.   The two Rangers head off across the fields and arrive at a farmhouse. One of the girls again stops to eat sweets. The other girl is abducted by a man. She tries to get away but he forces her into the farmhouse. Her friend goes in search of her and peers in through a farmhouse window. The girl is being tied up by the two men, a duo of crooks. She races off across the fields to get help. The other Rangers set off to the farmhouse to rescue their friend. One of the abductors is loading his bag with spoil from a robbery. The girls hide behind a wall as one of the men collects his car and backs up into the drive. The girls go into a huddle and decide on a plan. One of the men looks in on the girl, tied-up and struggling to get free. He waves goodbye. The two men head to their car. One of the tyres has a puncture. As they start to fix it, one of the Girl Rangers pinches their bag of swag from the car seat and runs off with it. The robbers give chase. The girl races off down the road and across the fields towards the Rangers’ camp, just managing to stay ahead of the men. The two men decide to split up to try and catch the girl. One heads off after a second Ranger but a trap has been laid for him with a rope. He ends up dangling from the tree upside down, two of the Rangers laughing at their successful stunt. The other robber has followed the girl who grabbed the bag to the campsite. She flings the bag in a tent and carries on running. He goes into the tent for the bag but the Rangers have set another trap. They collapse the tent on him. The girls now triumphantly lead the tied-up robbers down the hill. One of the Girl Rangers is crowned with a pearly tiara, part of the robbers' stolen loot. The other continues to eat a Mars bar. Title: Weekend Adventure. The End
