A home movie produced by Donald Oates of what is believed to be a charity event taking place at Dame Allan’s School in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne in which a number of people have buckets of water poured over them. A man and woman, both in school uniforms, sit on a raised platform with their feet in a set of stocks. A crowd watches as a bucket of water is poured down the back of the man, another man comes over and speaks with him. A second older man comes over and takes the school cap from the man’s head, dunks it in a bucket of water and places it back on the mans head. He then pours the remains of the water in the bucket over the woman much to the amusement of those around them. Another bucket of water is thrown at both of them by a man standing on the platform. A man wearing an old school tie and red jumper stands beside a blackboard twisting water out of his clothing. Two young men now sit in the stocks as a young boy throws a bucket of water at one of them. Another boy squeezes a sponge full of water on the other mans head putting back on the school cap, a bucket of water is then thrown onto him. A second bucket of water is poured over the first man with the bucket placed on his head, both are now soaked threw. Two young men carefully lift a metal bin full of water onto the platform and proceed to pours the content over the first man, the remnants they pour over the second man. The film ends on a third man sits on the platform in stocks and a bucket of water is poured over him.
