A home movie produced by Donald Oates of a number of caravanning holidays with new-wife Muriel around Northumberland, Scotland, and Norway in the post-war years. The first part features the couple and their caravan along the coast at Walkworth followed by them travelling to the Isle of Skype by ferryboat. On a suburban street and man loads items into a caravan parked there attached to car.

The car pulling the caravan drives slowly across a bumpy field. A man goes inside the caravan changes to woman standing in the doorway smiling. Two men toss a ball around with a woman, a third older man stands nearby watching.
A woman comes over to a man sitting on a deckchair offering him a drink, nearby the sea and steep cliffs and views along the coastline.

A man stands beside the car with caravan onboard a ferryboat, the boat pulls away from a quayside. The car with caravan drive off the ferry passing a lamppost and proceeds to drive onto another ferryboat moored nearby.
From the ferry a three-storey whitewashed house built beside the water with woodland behind it. Again, the car with caravan drives off the ferry onto a quayside, views of the surrounding water and woodland.

Two drawings of a steam ship and the other mountains. Along a quay a dockside crane loads cargo onto a steam ship moored there. Another steam ship heading out to sea, a small crowd watch from a jetty. A number of people walk along the quayside seen previous where the steam ship is still moored.
The caravan is parked in a field, on a nearby beach a man digs in the sand with a spade. A triangular Caravan Club flag flies from the rear of the caravan that is parked with the sea in the background. A view along the coastline changes to show a young couple sitting together smiling and chatting.
Two people row across a harbour in a rowing boat changes to feature a building with a tower on a clifftop.
The couple walk beside the parked caravan, changes to follow a road built beside a rocky beach, in the distance a house hidden in trees. In a field beside the road a group of people changes to show the caravan below and views out across the sea and islands in the distance. Two men stand beside the caravan parked on a quayside changes to it parked outside the Kylesku Hotel. The film ends on the surrounding Scottish landscape.
