Amateur film produced by Joe Clark of Pennyfine Films about the fishing fleet that works out of the village of Seahouses on the Northumberland coast. Title: Pennyfine Films present From a boat travelling near to the Farne Islands a number of seals either rest or jump into the sea from rocks. Seahouses harbour with a number of fishing trawlers moored along the quayside. The name of a number of boats including ‘Seahouses’, ‘Blyth’, ‘Ocean Vanguard’ and ‘Twilight Star’. On the deck of one of these boats three fishermen work to load and store their fishing nets. Crew members work on another boat nearby, the ‘Good Fellowship’. Along the quayside older seamen sit chatting, a Herrin gull looks for food. Another fisherman repairs his boat with hammer and nails watched by a second man. The sheltered harbour is full of fishing boats. A number of trawlers begin to leave the harbour heading out into the North Sea. At dusk a trawler returns to Seahouses harbour which is quiet with only a few boats moored along the quayside. On board one boat a fisherman chops fish, nearby a box of crab. More trawlers return to the harbour coming along a quayside. Fishermen work to untangle and put away their fishing nets as a man in a naval uniform comes over to watch. On board the boat ‘Providence’ a fisherman works to wrap and store ropes at the bow of the ship. Another fisherman fills a crate with large fish which are then lifted on the quayside, the name ‘R. Dawson’ is stencils onto the side of the crate. Other members of the crew wait chatting and smoking aboard ‘Providence’ as crates filled with fish continue to be loaded onto the quayside. Four fishermen sit along the edge of the quayside chatting while others work aboard their boat sorting nets. On flatbed barrow the fish crates are pushed away. The film ends on more seals resting on rocks or swimming in the sea from a boat travelling near to the Farne Islands. End title: The end
