A short amateur film that uses a montage of various rides and attractions to show people enjoying the annual Hopping’s fair taking place on the Town Moor in Newcastle upon Tyne. The film opens on an empty Town Moor, in the distance the skyline of Newcastle. A young girl comes down a fairground slide followed by a montage of other rides including a man riding a dodgem car, people riding a Waltzer and then a rocket ride. A small boy stands beside the Waltzer as it speeds past. A bag of candyfloss hangs down from stall, the lettering on an ice cream van reads ‘Yippee! It’s Mr Whippy’. The face of a young woman changes to that of a carriage for the ‘Ghost Train’ as comes along the track. A sign reads ‘The Loony Bin’ and people speed past on a carousel made up of well know film and television cartoon characters. Two men stand beside an attraction in the shape of a young woman in a bathing suit. The dials from a set of scales appear to be held in her arms. Passengers on a caterpillar ride speed past, those on board smiling. A number of spinning fairground rides follow including a Ferris wheel, a cage ride, a twister and a parachute ride. The film ends as it began on an empty Town Moor. End title: The end.
