Title: Take A Pair of Sparkling Eyes
[NB: Credits are un-readable on the hand winder]
Two men come out of the Theatre Royal Newcastle and walk down Grey Street towards a parked car on Shakespeare Street. They get into the car, one into the backseat the other the front, and drives away.
A set of traffic lights changes from green to red. The car comes to a stop and the men inside put-on sunglasses. The light changes to green and the car turns right onto Market Street from Grey Street.
The car pulls up outside Hare’s (P.L. Thompson) watchmaker and jewellery shop possibly on Pilgrim Street before slowly moving forward to an alleyway beside the business. The man in the backseat gets out and head down the darkened alleyway carrying a violin case. The man opens the case and takes out tools necessary to pick the lock on a door, back at the car the getaway driver looks around.
Now inside the shop the man uses a stethoscope to hear the lock mechanism on a safe. A number of dials are turned and the safe is opened to reveal a small statue of a car that has sparkling eyes made from diamonds. Back at the car the driver looks around as the first man returns still carrying the violin case and get back into the car which quickly drives away.
The car travels back to Shakespeare Street and pulls up beside the Theatre Royal. Both men get out and walk into the theatre, the man carrying the violin case places it in the theatre doorway. After a pause, a pair of hands appear and takes away the case.
A red VW Beetle drives along a duel-carriageway passing under a footbridge. At the wheel, a woman wearing sunglasses, beside her a young man also in sunglasses. In the backseat a young girl looks out of the window. The car continues its journey turning right onto the road leading to Newcastle Airport.
The Beetle approaches a barrier leading into a car park and is let inside. Nearby the two thieves from earlier get out of their car and use binoculars to watch as the Beetle parks. The family get out, the man carrying two briefcases, and makes their way towards the terminal building. The getaway driver puts down his binoculars and puts on a furry hat.
The family walk into the terminal building making their way to the British Caledonia desk and a flight to Amsterdam. Travel documents and checked by the woman sitting behind the desk as the two thieves make their way onto a viewing platform on the roof of the terminal building.
Back inside the building the family make their way through a number of checkpoints and again have their travel documents checked by a member of the airport security staff. As he writes on their paperwork the girl takes out the stolen jewelled cat, its sparkling eyes distracting the security man. The woman secures the cat back in its bag as the family make their way towards their aircraft. On the roof the two thieves use their binoculars to look out on the runway. The film ends with them turning and seeing the camera watching them, the man in the hat places it over the lens.
