A home movie made by Elizabeth, Lady Knott of her son Vincent with her husband Edward Obbard at Samares Manor on the island of Jersey. Filmed between 1946 and 1947, the film shows the seasons changing on the estate from winter, through spring into summer and young Vincent playing inside and out in the gardens. The film also shows Vincent as a toddler playing with a number of other children and the film ends with him playing on a beach with his bucket and spade.

[B&W] The film begins with a small child playing happily in a playpen. He looks at his image in the mirror and tries to grab it. A man comes to sit beside him and they play together, the child thrown items out of the pen.
The child crawls across the floor and comes to stand beside a table. He takes items off the table and looks at them. Beside another table next to the playpen the child stands and turns the nobs on a radio set before picking up and holding a small teddy-bear.
The film cuts to the gardens at Samares Manor near to the pond and the child sitting up in a pram. The film cuts to show a woman standing over the pram looking down on the child.
Two men lead a feisty bull by the nose walking it around the driveway of Samares Manor.
General views of the gardens and dovecote at Samares Manor covered in snow. Sitting in a small tea chest, the child is pulled along the snowy driveway by a man. He is joined by a woman and together they pull the child across the driveway.

[Colour]. The child continues to play in the garden and with a small blue ball. Nearby is a black and white wooden horse on wheels which the child tries to push. He stops and rushes at the camera with a smile.
The film cuts to show the child playing on the lawn beside a large bush with red flowers. He pushes his wooden horse along a path. On a grassed area near to the pond a woman watches over the child playing there as he falls over and gets back. He feeding a duck.
The film cuts to show the child playing on the lawn with four other children of around the same age. A brief view of a man and woman coming out of Samares Manor towards a car carrying the child quickly returns to the children playing together. A young girl plays with the boy as well as a small ball.
On a beach near the surf, the boy plays in the sand. He picks up a piece of seaweed and moves it before walking past holding a red bucket. He fills a hole with water from the bucket. A woman and the child stand together in the surf. The child walks towards the beach, falls over and gets back up again. The film ends with him building a sandcastle.
