The film opens on general views of fields and woodland areas on Jersey filmed from a horse. A man clicks his fingers in front of the face of the horse the cameraperson is sitting on. More general views of fields and woodland areas and a steam passing through the landscape.
The film cuts show a dog with its head sticking out of window of Samares Manor. Two people on horseback trot along the driveway towards the manor.
In front of the entrance of Samares Manor is a dovecote with birds feeding from it and other sitting on the roof of the manor. Sitting in a nearby tree is a parrot.
General views of the manor’s botanical gardens at the high of summer with flowers and fruit trees in full bloom. A boat sits on a pond, a footbridge nearby. Coy Carp fish swim in the water. Two women are seen walking around the garden with the dog.
As well as the herb garden, there are views from the Japanese garden with summerhouse and water features. The film cuts to show an older man, possibly Sir James Knott, sitting in a motorised wheelchair smoking a cigarette. More views around the garden and a planted bed.
Outside Samares Manor the Rolls Royce is parked, the dog’s head sticks out from inside.
A brief view of Jersey Castle cuts back to more views of the garden and fruit trees. The film cuts to a boy with a pipe in his mouth plays with a small dog. A young girl plays with the family dog along a lawned pathway.
The film cuts to the boy swimming in the sea and the film ends with a small sailing dinghy in a harbour and other larger vessels docked nearby.
