Street scenes in Newcastle city centre follow with trolley buses, horse and carts and motor cars sharing the road with pedestrians, moving from Barras Bridge onto Percy Street outside the Victorian Grand Hotel.
Now on the Quayside, sacks are unloaded from a ship by a gang of men. Cylinders are stacked on the quayside. Children watch the work as the cylinders are lifted by crane onto a ship.
Panoramic view of the New Tyne Bridge from Gateshead to Newcastle. The Swing Bridge opens to allow through steam tug boat guiding the Friesland steam ship.

Title: Cullercoats and Whitley Bay Holiday Scenes, Fishing Net Menders, Ghostly Sea Tennis and Bathing
Panorama of Cullercoats bay from the south, the beach and harbour walls busy with people and many fishing cobles and other boats around the bay, some moored in the harbour. Overhead view of the beach.
Two fishermen, an older man and youth, begin to unravel and fold their nets. The young man hoists one bale of net from the coble. The two then start to mend their nets swiftly, watched by another fisherman and a young boy.
Briefly, the ghostly image of a tennis match is accidently double exposed with the scene of crashing waves on the coast. People are crowded around the pool at Table Rocks, some braving a swim in the pool, others watching in coats and hats. Some of the men in their all-in-one knitted swimsuits practice diving. A group of men are playing with a ball near the pool.
Panorama of the River Tyne at Wylam. A woman pushes a pram down a country road. Other people are strolling around the village. The river is choppily flowing swiftly over rocks, the bridge crossing from north to south Wylam.
A cricket match is underway in Durham. General views of the city and Durham Cathedral. People are rowing and punting on the Wear, and strolling along the riverside walk. The old corn and fulling mill stand beside the river weir, Durham Cathedral towering above. View down road towards Durham City. View towards Old Elvet Bridge. Men are out for a stroll across the bridge. A couple row towards the Prebends Bridge. The cricket match continues. People stroll across the bridge.
