This amateur film made by Michael John Keane shows children playing on the Cleveland County Playbus. Some of the children are also interviewed and recite rhymes and songs to camera. The film opens with a shot of the bright blue and yellow Cleveland County Council Playbus, (Reg. 279 DUP) parked at the side of the road on a housing estate. A young girl in teh playbus sings into a microphone. The song is ‘Summer Nights’ from the film musical ‘Grease’.  Another girl recites into the microphone the nursery rhyme 'Baa Baa Black Sheep'. A boy sings a contemporary song, and another girl recites ‘Hickory Dickory Dock’, followed by 'Tom, Tom the Piper’s Son' by a young girl. A boy performs ‘Humpty Dumpty’. Nearby, a girl is distracted by the slide. One of the playbus assistants encourages another young boy to recite ‘Baa Baa Black Sheep’ A different playbus worker looks after the children as they draw on paper using a desk area near one of the windows. She tries to tempt one of the boys into looking through a book. She catches one of the younger children as they come down the slide. Another youngster looks through a heavily illustrated book about animals. More children come down the slide. Others try their acrobatics on a car tyre which is suspended from the ceiling as a swing. Two boys fight over an ‘Action Man’ soldier doll. Children play with model houses, jigsaws, draw and play with a typewriter. The film fades into another group of children playing on the slide and the suspended tyre, while others hammer wooden or plastic pegs into a wooden frame. A girl spins in the suspended tyre and others play in the sand box. Again, a different group of children enjoy themselves with toys and games, music playing in the background. A group of girls sing for the camera. Then all the children sit on the floor and join in a song with accompanying actions. One boy holds the microphone while another recites the rhyme ‘Dr Foster Went to Gloucester’ Three children sing ‘Baa Baa Black Sheep’; another three recite ‘Humpty Dumpty’ followed by another’s rendition of ‘Baa Baa Black Sheep’. Altogether, the children recite something very loudly.  The film fades out and into another group of Children play in the sand box, on the slide and with other toys. A helper on the bus with the microphone asks a little girl about the time she fell in a puddle. When she finishes her story she waves at the camera. A brief  view of mothers outside the bus with their children, then the film cuts back to more activities on the playbus. A group sing-song follows of ‘Ten Green Bottles’. A young boy does a solo rendition of ‘Sing a Song of Sixpence’, and another recites ‘Humpty Dumpty’. A brief rendition of the ‘alternative’ ‘Jingle Bells' is followed by another boy reciting ‘Hickory Dickory Dock’. A girl recites ‘Higgley Piggley My Black Hen’ and everyone claps. A rendition by all of the children of ‘The Wheels on the Bus Go Round and Round’ ends the film.
