The film opens on a party taking place in a suburban home with men and women chatting over drinks, the men drink beer the women glasses of wine. In the kitchen a couple prepare finger foods. Back in the living room a number of couples dance together, a slightly inebriated woman dances on her own before sitting on the floor....

This is an amateur film produced by Alan Quinn that records a series of parties and formal dinners taking place inside one home in the Gateshead suburb of Sunniside. The film opens on a party taking place in a suburban home with men and women chatting over drinks, the men drink beer the women glasses of wine. In the kitchen a couple prepare finger foods. Back in the living room a number of couples dance together, a slightly inebriated woman dances on her own before sitting on the floor. Around her couples continue to dance, the woman seen previously on the floor, now dances with a man in a red shirt while others sit on a leather sofa chatting. Sweet and savoury foods are laid out on two tables set up in the room, a third table is stacked high with cans of beer and other alcoholic drinks.   Two men comes into the room laughing and smiling, one is dressed like a French onion seller the other is wearing a fake hair piece and glasses and is wearing a pair of underpants over his trousers. People in various fancy dress costumes dance around the living room, others collapse onto sofas to drink. Everyone is having fun. In the kitchen crates of beer are stacked on counter tops as another group stands around chatting and drinking. Back in the living room the dancing has stopped and people sit or stand around with their drinks talking to each other. Three women in fancy dress begin to dance together. A long table has been set up for a formal dinner, in the living room a number of smartly dressed men and women sit and talk, others sit on chairs, some sit on the floor. Sitting around the table the group enjoy a meal while engaging in conversation. Chocolate mousse deserts are served to the guests by two men. A man comes down the stairs and offers a jacket to a second man standing beside the front door. At the table two women continue to chat, a man comes over with a bottle of wine. In the living room everyone enjoys brandy and coffee. One of the men holds a baby boy gently tossing him into the air. The group begins to dance around the living room and form a conga line. A table is laid out with a variety of savoury foods, followed by a number of men and women dressed in fancy costumes dancing around a living room. One person is dressed as a jester, another a cat a third a Teddy boy. Around the living room everyone enjoys a drink and a plate of food while talking. Some begin to dance again while others sit on chairs around the room either watching or chatting. Another table is set for a formal meal and a woman in elegant dress walks across the living room and comes to sit at table along with the other smartly dressed guests. They chat over glasses of wine as food is brought out and set on a small table next to the dining table. A joint of meat is cut and lemon meringue pie is sliced. Following the meal three men sit at the table chatting. In the living room a man and woman play-fight on the sofa while others around them watch laughing. A number of people begin dancing while others sit on the floor around the room. On the dining room table food is served up on plates and wine poured. A man cuts a gateau or tart as dessert while those around the table chat over their dessert and glasses of wine. Outside in the garden a firework fountain is producing a sparkling display, a man comes over and lights a rocket which shoots into the sky.  Other fireworks are set off and light up the garden. Back inside around a low table in the living room a group play a game of dominoes followed by a game of Cluedo. In the kitchen a man arranges some flowers while another man provides slices from a number of quiches. In the living room a party is underway with many of those standing around talking and wearing paper hats some with streamers across their shoulders. People begin to dance, a couple embrace passionately. An older woman sitting on the floor waves at the camera. A man comes downstairs wearing an apron. Party goers sit or stand around the living room talking over drinks while others continue to dance, everyone looks tired. A number of people come downstairs including a man in a striped blue shirt. He raises a tankard of beer before dancing with a woman. A view around a room shows a display of orchids and number of older men sit around the room chatting. In a garden two women and two small girls sit, a man uses a Flymo lawnmower to cut the grass. He then uses a saw to cut branches from a bush or tree. A second man pushes a wheelbarrow carrying a large piece of wood across the lawn. On a number of tables with glasses, wines and beers are set up ready for a party. Outside in the garden a man turns piece of meat on the barbeque. He serves up the food to a number of guests. Inside a woman dries a small dog as others sit around eating their food and chatting with each other. In the kitchen the man tending the barbeque is now filling a plate with other food that is laid out on the counter top. The film ends back in the living room with people continuing to chat and eat while others dance.
