This amateur film made by Mr L Hammell, a teacher at Norton High Street Junior School, of a school visit to London shows the pupils and staff taking a bus tour around London and along the river Thames before heading home back to Norton.
The film opens with the exterior view of a building, the YWCA Hyde House, Montague Square London where staff and pupils emerge carrying luggage. The group carry their luggage down the street.
Next the schoolchildren are filmed in their seats on a coach, going past some of London's landmarks including Nelson's column. On the banks of the Thames the camera shows views of Tower Bridge and the Tower of London also views of a replica of a 16th century(?)sailing ship moored on the river nearby.
Next, a busy street market (Portobello?) and followed by views of the school group back on their coach. Out on the open road they head north along the A1. General views follow on the coach.
The film ends as the children get off the coach, back in more familiar territory in Norton.
