Tyne Tees Television footage transmitted 26 July 1967 showing parrots performing various tricks for a crowd. One parrot drives a car, another peddles a scooter and another rides a bicycle along a high wire.
The footage begins with a parrot behind the wheel of a toy car driving along a raised platform. The car comes to a stop, the parrot gets out and opens the hood to look inside. A large crowd standing behind a fence watch as a handler encourages the bird. The film cuts to show a parrot riding along the same platform, this time pushing a scooter. Another parrot is filmed riding a bicycle along a high wire towards the handler. Two parrots on roller-skates roll past. The handler drops a parrot on the ground beside a slide and the parrot climbs the steps and slides down the otherside. The report ends with the crowd applauding and the parrot riding along the high wire again.
