A film by Betty Cook of the Cleveland Cine Club showing a stock car or banger car race taking place at the Brands Hatch racing circuit near Swanley in Kent in 1973. Superimposed over the opening title is a photograph of a smashed up stock car: Title: Stock Cars From the stands at the Brands Hatch racing circuit a large crowd of spectators watch the beginning of the race as the cars drive slowly around the track. As the cars increase in speed dust is thrown up into the air. Two cars skid off the track while a third spins on to its side. The driver runs off the track escorted by a number of officials. The cars continue to pass the camera at speed some stalling on the track as other cars drive around them. Another vehicle is hit and spins out of control this time onto its roof. Again, the driver gets out and rushes into the centre of the track away from the other cars. In the centre of the track are a number of smashed up cars. Officials wave yellow and red flags and the race comes to an end. Cars and support vehicles drive slowly around the track as an overturned vehicle is turned back onto its wheels.  The film ends with the winner of the race being driven around the track waving a chequered flag.
