Description A short amateur film made by Victor Sidney Carman recording a student procession through the streets of Newcastle as part of the 1951 Festival of Britain celebrations.
The film begins with views of decorated floats travelling along roads through the centre of Newcastle. Behind the floats comes a marching band and behind them a procession of marching young people, many in costumes. The film cuts to a different location where a number of floats pass watched by large crowds on the pavement.
The film ends with a man, woman and small boy posing for a photograph in a garden.
