Out at sea in the distance Coquet Island. May 1964 and general views of streets and houses in old Totnes in Devon. A sign gives information for the Totnes museum, followed by a covered walkway underneath the Quaker House. More general views follow of streets and buildings. A road sign shows destinations for Coombe Fishacre, Ipplepen, Newton Abbot, and Totnes. A phantom passenger view follows from a car, down narrow and high hedge country roads that are typical in Devon. The film cuts to Torquay and panoramic views of the coastal area and town. Then to the picturesque thatched houses at Cockington, and an elegant horse and carriage for hire. Red haired cattle are ushered down a narrow road. A woman looks at an animated display in a shop window, followed by views of a thatched house garden and a display of garden dwarves. The film cuts to Lands End and its souvenir shop. A signpost at Land's End indicates that John O'Groats is 874 miles distant, and Rutherglen, Glasgow is 554 miles distant. A shot follows of the famous first and last house in England. At Clovelly in Devon, general views show the steep cobbled streets. The woman seen earlier pats a donkey she comes across in the street. She continues her perambulation down to the harbour, stepping gingerly over the cobbles. A child rides a donkey along the beach. The film cuts to Brixham on the southern coast of Torbay showing the harbour and boats. Artists also populate this area painting and selling pictures. A replica of an old wooden sailing ship (Mayflower?) is also in the harbour. A man paints his fishing boat. A sign reads Laurence George - artist in oils. Next Stonehenge and general views of the ancient stones, as children and tourists take photos. June 1968 at Cley Next The Sea, a village on the River Glaven in Norfolk, East Anglia and general views of the streets and houses. A brief view shows the Cley forge gallery, followed by general views on board a motor boat on the Norfolk Broads. General views in the streets of Great Yarmouth show Broad Row and Market Row. A brief shot of Cley next the Sea signpost, and more general views of boats on the broads. A busy section of the broads includes fuel stations for boats. Next a visit to the Sandringham Estate, with its gardens and large greenhouses. Then on the broads again with general views of sailing dinghies. A tourist coach, its front wheels, stuck in the shingle next to water, is pulled free by a lorry commandeered for the job. A caterpillar tractor tows boats to the shoreline on a gravel beach. The film ends with a trip to London in December 1963, and a tour of the streets and Christmas lights which decorate buildings, including the famous neon light advertising display in Piccadilly.
