Amateur filmmaker Ronald Pringle documents his trips to Paris between 1965 and 1969.
The film opens with a shot of the Arc de Triomphe and an attendant who supervises passengers taking the lift to the top. Next, there's a parade of marching ex-servicemen (?) walking towards the monument.
A brief view follows of a funicular railway at Monmartre, followed by the steps up to Sacré-Cœur Basilica.
Views of the River Seine follow, where pleasure boats take tourists to view famous landmarks.
From the upper decks of the Eiffel Tower views follow of the Seine, the pleasure boats and the Trocadero the site of the Palais de Chauillot an area across the Seine from the Eiffel Tower.
Travelling shots follow from a pleasure boat going past the Pont de Grenelle which boasts a replica of New York's Statue of Liberty. More views follow of tourist boats on the Seine followed by views of the fountains at the Trocadero.
Gendarmes demonstrate the art of point duty in the heavy Parisian traffic.
General views follow taken from the top of the Arc de Triomphe, in the distance the distinctive white coloured Sacre Coeur Basilica.
General views taken at night follow, with views in the Champs Elysees, the Arc de Triomphe lit with floodlights and the Trocadero fountains.
In daytime, tourists ascend the Eiffel Tower in a lift.
More general views follow at night showing nightclubs, cabaret at the Follies Pigalles, street cafes, and the Sacre Coeur at night. Other general views show the Trocadero at dusk, followed by high angle night shots from the Eiffel Tower. Boats appear on the Seine at night, various shops are lit up, the French flag flies at the Arc de Triomphe.
Daytime views follow again of traffic in the centre of Paris. A double decker glass roofed tourist bus goes by. More general views show the lift up the Eiffel Tower, pleasure boats on the Seine and souvenir shops at the Eiffel Tower.
In Monmartre artists compete for attention, while two dogs play tug of war.
More shots follow of Paris by night, and the Trocadero at dusk, followed by tourist boats again at night. People in cars wave French flags as they go down the Champs Elysees. A shopping arcade is lit up at night and the film closes with more shots of the Trocadero at night, then the river Seine at dusk.
