Other sections are taken presumably at the filmmaker’s garden at home. The film opens with a view of the moon taken with a telephoto lens. The film then cuts to a beach (dark) at Mallaig on the Scottish Highlands west coast. A small sailing dinghy with a distinctive red sail sets off between outcrops of rock and open sea. The film cuts to the white sands of a beach near Glenelg, followed by a shot of a kayak or canoe on water along with the red sailed dinghy. A woman collects pebbles or shells from a beach in Ardnamurchan. She puts her collection on the back seat of her car. Another cut to misty mountain scenery, with cars parked on a single-track road. General views follow of coastal mountains and a choppy sea, with whitewashed cottages in the distance. A view of wrecked cars follows, left to rust and decay in the wild landscape. More footage of white sands and blue seas. The woman seen earlier gathers more shells, waves break on the shore near a lighthouse. The film cuts to an aerial shot taken from a light aircraft during a 'Round Scotland Flight'. The weather is overcast as it flies over mountains and sea dotted with islands. General aerial views follw of industrial and urban areas along a coastline. The film cuts to the Prestwick Air Show. Small hovercraft demonstrate their mobility, and powerful military aircraft demonstrate their agility in the sky. Other aircraft in the display include First World War planes, fighter jets, helicopters and an appearance by the majestic superonic plane Concorde. Film cuts to Connel Ferry on the south side of Loch Etive. Another cut shows a new garden pond and bog garden, at the cinematographers home. Back to Scotland and two boats in the lock at Crinan. A family leans on the bar that opens (or closes) the lock gates. A fire breaks out on one of the boats in the lock, a concerned crowd looks on but the fire is quickly extinguished. A brief view follows of someone in a kayak or canoe negotiating wild water, then the film cuts back to the lock at Crinan as the gates are opened and boats sail out. A brief shot shows a man on one of the boats playing the bagpipes. Next is Blair Drummond Safari Park with views of lions and lion cubs, baboons on top of cars, and elephants and giraffes amongst the traffic. A brief shot of a pool and fountain in a suburban garden, then the film cuts to characters and crowds at Speakers Corner in London. Another cut goes to the Isle of Arran under snow taken from the shore at Ardrossan. The film moves on to holidays and excursions in 1973. At Corrieshalloch Gorge a warning sign tells of insecure ledges in the gorge and that the public should not go near the edge. A number of people walk along a designated footpath to a viewing platform over the gorge, the depth of the gorge is over 200ft. Views follow of a waterfall while visitors walk across a narrow bridge that crosses the gorge. On the 6th of June the holiday makers visit Inverewe Gardens, which are run by the National Trust for Scotland. Displays of flowers and shrubs follow. A visit to Inverpolly nature reserve follows, with views of wild moorland and sea inlets. Next destination is Ullapool and the harbour. At the harbour, hoardings advertise Summer Isles Cruises. Views follow of small boats in the harbour and adverts for fishing excursions or fishing boat hire. Cars wait for the ferry at Ullapool, followed by views of a ruined cottage or 'bothy'. The ferry unloads its passengers and vehicles at Ullapool, then the film cuts to a misty road leading to Achiltibuie. A shot follows of a notice for MacLeod’s - Summer Isles Cruises, followed by wildflowers amongst the rocks. Waves break on the rocky shore (in slow motion?). The film cuts back to Inverpolly and panning shots of mountains. Views of 'Malcolm Miller' the sailing ship and training vessel follow as it visits Ullapool. Cadets perform cleaning duties on-board. A brief view of Corrieshalloch Gorge footpath cuts to a dead sheep at roadside, and the film ends showing a suburban garden with a fishpond and mature bog garden.
