This film from amateur filmmaker Ronald Pringle shows a mixture of holidays in Scotland, visits to Cumbria's Steam Gathering, demolition of a chemical plant, and flying demonstrations from military and other aircraft.
The film opens with close up shots of greenfinches feeding from a garden bird feeder.
The film cuts to a coastal view where flags are hoisted to the top of a land based ship’s mast. Dinghies and small boats can be seen on the water. Teenagers enjoy themselves steering small-motorised rubber dinghies. Views follow of boats in the lock at Crinan a village on the west coast of Scotland.
Views follow of the craft and model displays at a Cumbria Steam Gathering which contrasts with the great outdoors and a family enjoying the view on the bridge at Corrieshalloch Gorge on the Droma river near Ullapool.
A car ferry deposits buses and cars on shore.
Views follow of the demolition of a fractionating column (?) at a chemical plant. This is followed by views of an air display probably at Prestwick airport near Glasgow with demonstrations from military and light aircraft.
The film ends with more demolition footage at the chemical plant, a view of a holiday chalet and again birds feeding from bird feeder.
