Part of the Yorkshire Media Consortium project, A to B explores Doncaster's relationship with the bus in 2000. It follows a traveller taking an extended journey across the borough from Stainforth to Conisbrough. Title | A to B The film opens with a First bus travelling along a road with the Thorpe Marsh power station in the background. A man in a blue hat is waiting at the Stanley Gardens bus stop in Stainforth, with a rucksack over his shoulder. He explains the premise of his journey from Stainforth to Conisbrough. The man, Dave, then asks some people at Sarah's Pet Shop for directions to Stainforth Police Station, where he chats to a woman who is also waiting at the bus stop. Inside a building Dave meets John, who will also be taking the number 82 bus. Once on board, the pair continues to talk, and it becomes clear that the pair had been made to run for the bus this time. Dave asks John whether the bus is usually early, to which John replies that this is the first time ever, in about seven weeks. John disembarks and the pair shakes hands, followed by an interview with the bus driver. Arriving at Doncaster South Bus Station, Dave heads to the North Bus Station, where he reads the departures board and asks a driver whether the bus to Sprotborough goes to Conisbrough. It doesn't. Dave then speaks to Nigel, the site supervisor, who directs him into the travel centre, where he is told that he should be at the South Bus Station after all. At the South Bus Station Dave talks to a regulator and a cleaner, and is shown reading a newspaper. Dave finally manages to board a bus, the number 222 for Barnsley, and again quizzes the driver about his job. There is a brief shot of a sign for Conisbrough and the castle can be seen in the background. Dave disembarks and finds a packet of cheesy Wotsits in his bag, which he throws in a bin. On the way to the castle he stops at another bus stop to talk to Elaine, with whom he discusses litter. He is then shown sunbathing on the grassy bank by the castle before the film closes with him driving off in a car.
