Title: British Gas
The film opens on views of a gas platform at sea followed by a montage of images showing gas being used in industry, in laboratory conditions and within the home.
Over a view of a large explosion the following title:

Title: Spadeadam Test Site for Hazard Related Experiments
Out on the test site a section of piping is exposed to ignited gas causing it to eventually explode.
General views of gas engineers on site at Spadedam working to prepare for a new experiment. In an office another engineer works at a computer which is going to record the data from the experiment. Back out on site an engineer records the data from a pipe in extreme weather conditions followed by fire crews working to put out a gas fire.
The film cuts to a graphic showing the Spadeadam site in Cumbria followed by aerial views over the site.
The film changes to show a general view of the exterior British Gas Engineering Research Station at Killingworth and a car driving through a security barrier. In an office a number of workers sit at computer screens. A man comes over and looks at the work of a woman sitting at her desk.
Back at Spadeadam a man in a digger digs a trench into which a section of piping is to be laid. Other engineers stand around waiting to test for pipeline fractures. The film cuts to show the pipeline exploding.
The film changes to show a large natural gas container ship docked at a port followed by a view of the 7000 ton pool which has been created to test the transportation of liquefied hydro-carbon natural gas. The gas is lit and cameras record the explosion.
More general views show engineers on site or standing at computers interpreting the results of tests. The sequence also shows an engineer talking with clients about the results.
The film ends as a British Gas van leaves the site and through a set of traffic lights. A montage of views showing engineers working on site plays over the closing titles.
