They walk around the garden ignoring the man and sit down. The man with the camera speaks with them and then then prepares to take their photograph. Close-ups follow showing the women's faces. The two women then pick up the seats they were sitting on and carry then across the garden as the man watches. [Colour footage] Two women in a garden stand next to a flower bed and pose for the camera. Sitting down, they occupy themselves by reading and knitting. [Black & White] Title: A Toast to the New Year A man pours two drinks, he hands one of the glasses to a woman sitting next to him. They both touch glasses and take a drink. A war memorial has some steps at its base where some of the group sit and pose for the camera. They move on from the monument, past some parked cars then continue beyond a slate stone wall. Some enter a single storey building, some remain outside posing for the camera. Some of the group walk down a village street towards the camera, two members of the group walk hand in hand. Travelling shots of sailing boats on a lake shot from a pleasure boat. The adults on board joke amongst themselves. Small sailing boats go past the pleasure boat as does another pleasure boat. A speed boat goes by at a pace, captured by the camera. General views follow of the lake, then the tourist boat heads towards a jetty where passengers will disembark.
