A film from Guisborough Grammar School showing boys assisting in the renovations of a stone cottage in Swaledale, which will be used for school outward bound activities.
The film begins with a tractor with trailer attached, pulling up outside a stone cottage. Three boys start unloading the trailer. They carry chairs and other bits of furniture into the cottage, a few others try to manhandle a large sofa through the narrow doorway.

The film begins with a tractor with trailer attached, pulling up outside a stone cottage. Three boys start unloading the trailer. They carry chairs and other bits of furniture into the cottage, a few others try to manhandle a large sofa through the narrow doorway.
Inside the boys get to work on renovation task. One is painting the exposed roof rafters, another starts chipping out the old mortar from the stone in the walls. Another cleans a table onto which, provisions such as cereal, tinned food etc. are put to be sorted out.
The film closes with a long shot of the tractor and trailer.
