Edith parts a curtain and enters a dining room carrying a decorated birthday cake, placing it on a  cake stand on a dning table. She cuts the cake. Pan  right to table laid with a celebratory tea, plates of buns and biscuits, two small bottles of champagne, wine glasses, flowers in a vase. Alex pours two glasses of drink. The couple toast and sip the drink. Alex lights a cigarette in a holder. he hands the seated woman a book. She places a box of chocolates on the arm of her chair and consults a book on her lap, showing images of national flags.
