A man dressed in a djellaba (a traditional long, loose-fitting unisex outer robe) leads a donkey through a street past a van with the Michelin Man logo on the side. Another man led a donkey along a road past the “Café De L Avenue”. Two women in white dresses come out of a building and down a set of steps. The women walk along a boulevard lined with palm trees. A number of local people walk along the boulevard including several women wearing a white burkas. Some of the locals are either leading or riding donkeys. There are views of various small streets and alleyways.

The film shows the exterior of a white building with arched doorways. A market stall stands beside a set of stone stairs. A man leading a team of donkeys waves at the camera. Two local men, one wearing a turban the other a fez, stand in a courtyard smiling at the camera. The man in the fez waves at the camera. In a palm tree lined road the man in the fez passes and waves again at the camera. A number of women in white burkas walk through a street passed a store with an open front. Several people can be seen climbing a set of steps that have been built next to a road. Two women walk through an archway and decent a series of steps. A man in a dark cloak passes the camera and waves.
From an elevated position there are views of the harbour and sea below. A man in a djellaba and fez stands on a wall beside two young boys. He is seen talking to them.
The film changes to a busy market place with a number of traditional stalls. Crowds of local people move about the market.

Three men sit on the ground in front of a number of large sacks that are stacked against a wall. A lorry passes through a busy road junction, crowds of people walk past. A herd of goats are lead along a busy street.

Large crowds of people are packed into a market square. Many are squatting on the ground beside their produce while others walk past.

A local man walks through an enclosed garden. Another man walks past carrying a large sack on his bag. A large group of people sit on the ground holding umbrellas over themselves. A stall selling coconut or other large fruit. There are various other views of market stalls and large numbers of people walking past.

Two donkeys are led past carrying large loads of hay. More crowds of local people are seen walking through a market. Many of the stallholders are wearing long white gowns with large wide brim hats. The film ends with views of the city as seen from a boat.
