An amateur film believed made by Eddie Nelson of the Cleveland Cine Club of the Teesside Air Show taking place at Teesside Airport, now Durham Tees Valley Airport, on the 26th and 27th August 1983. Title: Air Show 83 The film opens on crowds of spectators looking over a BAE Systems Hawk T1 aircraft in the red and white livery of the Red Arrows that is parked on the runway at Teesside Airport. General views follow of other aircraft on display, mainly military jets including a BAC Jet Provost T.5A, a McDonnell Douglas Phantom FG.1 and a Westland Sea King HAS.2A helicopters. The film cuts to a man holding a walkie-talkie and an Aerospatiale Gazelle military helicopter flying past and landing nearby. A number of people look through binoculars as two Sea King HAS.2A helicopter fly past. General views of people enjoying a number of rides at a fairground. The film cuts to a large crowd sitting on grass, many of whom are looking into the sky where a number of aircraft are performing aerobatics. A number of different aircraft take off from the runway or are seen flying overhead watched by the crowds on the ground. A British Midlands passenger plane comes into land at the airport followed by a bi-plane performing aerobatics in the air including a loop-the-loop and flying upside down. Another aircraft performs stunts over the airfield, this time with smoke coming out of the rear leaving trails in the air. A third aircraft also performs aerobatic stunts. Two World War Two fighter planes, probably Spitfire Vb’s, fly low near the crowds followed by other vintage and contemporary aircraft. A Jet Provost T.5A taxis along the runway before  flying past the crowds and performing a loop-the-loop. An RAF Avro Anson T21 aircraft takes off and flies past the crowds followed by the Jet Provost T.5A taxiing off the runway. In the air, another bi-plane performs stunts while on the ground a Lockheed C-1 Hercules taxis along the runway before flying past the crowd. An Avro Lancaster bomber with two Spitfire escorts flies past. The Red Arrows aerobatic display team speed past in formation and splitting into the sky. The film ends with the Red Arrows coming into land.
