On a beach Molly Smith plays with her youngest daughter Lorraine in the surf, her older daughter Linda plays nearby.
On a farm Stan Smith sits atop a horse alongside daughter Linda who waves. Three men stand nearby, possibly Stan’s brothers. Stan trots the horse around the farmyard changing to Linda now riding her own pony with sister Lorraine in Stan’s arms. With Lorraine now riding on the back of Linda’s pony Molly watches them both making sure Lorraine doesn’t fall off.
Linda and Lorraine kick a ball around a garden changes to them posing beside a flowerbed. [Out of focus] The two girls push prams along a street.
Outside a church following a christening an older woman stands holding the baby, other family members gather around her.
Linda and Lorraine come along a track on a donkey changes to Riverside Park in Chester-le-Street where Linda, Lorraine and several other children are playing in a paddling pool. A young woman in a red and white stripped top joins them in the water. The girls enjoy a fairground ride.
Linda and Lorraine pose together on a beach changing to them standing beside a caravan. They look over flowers in a barrel placed outside the caravan door, they walk away passing through a gate in a picket fence which surrounds the caravan. A boy and young man ride up and down on horseback near to the caravan.
On a golf course three men, possibly Stan’s brothers again, play a round of golf.
Men come out of the Crown Inn at Chester-le-Street, one crosses Front Street. A group of them stand on the pavement chatting. Once gone children, including Linda and Lorraine, run past the pub.
Around St Mary’s and St Cuthbert’s parish church in Chester-le-Street Linda and Lorraine ride push scooters.
In matching outfits Linda and Lorraine walk past the Crown Inn changing to Lorraine sitting on Penshaw Hill waving at the camera. A group of children race past, nearby a tent and above them the Penshaw Monument.
Outside the Crown Inn again children walk past some carrying possibly Christmas presents. A boy holds up a ‘Davy Crockett’ book while Linda and Lorraine walk past carrying dolls [sequence partly out of focus].
In winter coats Molly, Linda and Lorraine walk along Church Chase outside St Mary’s and St Cuthbert’s parish church.

At the Town Moor Hopping’s in Newcastle Linda and Lorraine enjoy some of the rides.
[Ghosting for the remainder of the film]. General views of people enjoying the various rides and attractions at the Hopping’s Fair. Back in Chester-le-Street Linda comes out of school walking a dog on a lead. She and Lorraine wearing summer dresses walk along a seafront pavement with the dog. On the beach Stan Smith sits in a deckchair, around him his daughters play in the sand.
