Visitors arrive through the main entrance at the Co-operative Workers Society (CWS) exhibition.

Dignitaries, including the Mayor and his wife, and representatives of the Board of Management, arrive at the CWS exhibition and entrance to the main marquee. Various shots record visitors entering the marquee.

Visitors take their seats.
The civic dignitaries and representatives of the Board of Management are led onto the stage platform.
Sequence of speeches intercut with shots of the audience follows. Councillor Mrs D A Starkey opens with a speech. Mr J M Sanderson of the Board addresses the audience Various men, including the Mayor and Deputy Mayor, make speeches.
The CWS (Manchester) band provides a musical interlude.
An address by Mr W H Patterson (General Manager) follows.
Bouquets of flowers are presented to female guests on the platform and photographs are taken of the presentations.
The guests leave the stage and exit the marquee. The audience leave the marquee.
The next sequence records scenes around the exhibition. Two young women man the "membership booth" and hand out leaflets. A man has joined the two women handing out leaflets.
A banner reads Newcastle-upon-Tyne Co-operative Society.
Visitors enter a marquee with an "Information" stall.
Busy crowds mill around the stalls. Various shots of the stalls follow, including one selling NCS Sports Equipment.
Two women serve at a food counter. Women are browsing the busy exhibition food shop, set up like a supermarket.
The film cuts to a marquee interior where the CWS (Manchester) Brass Band and conductor perform to a packed audience.
Visitors are browsing food stalls and eating in a cafeteria. Co-operative workers serve at the refreshments counter. A sign behind the counter reads "CWS Aerated Water."
