The prince visits a new build development in Gosforth followed by a terraced street in Elswick which have been redeveloped by the association. At Crossway Court in Gosforth, Prince Charles speaks with several dignitaries under a canopy of red, white, and blue bunting. In the background a large crowd of well-wishers stand watching as photographers take the Prince’s picture. The Prince walks along a garden path towards a new-build home waving at the crowd before going inside. He is accompanied by Alan Kilburn, Chief Executive of North Housing.
In the doorway of their home reporter Kevin Rowntree interviews the homeowners about the visit. A well-wisher presents a red rose to the prince who places it in the buttonhole of his jacket. Interview with the woman who presented the Prince with the rose about why she did it.
At Northbourne Street in Elswick the prince shakes hands with a man who greets him as he walks along the street past crowds lining the pavement to meet Prince Charles. He is introduced to another man and asked about his interest in this co-operative housing project. He walks along the road speaking with some of the spectators, shaking hands with others. One woman leans over and kissed Prince Charles on the cheek.

Additional footage of the princes visit to Northbourne Street begins with the Royal car pulling up outside one of the terraced houses and the price getting out. The waiting crowd cheer loudly as he is greeted by a man who shakes his hand. The prince in introduced to a second man who also shakes the Prince’s hand. He chats with both men before being introduced to a third man and an older woman and heading inside one of the houses.
On the other side of the street a line of spectators stands behind a metal barrier watched over by a policeman. Several children sit on the rail, some of the crowd wave Union Jacks or wear Union Jack plastic hats. A woman in the crowd takes a photograph of the television crew.
Prince Charles comes out of the house accompanied by Alan Kilburn from North Housing. He shakes the hand of an older lady standing in the doorway of the next-door house. She escorts the prince inside followed by the other dignitaries.
The crowds standing behind barriers on both sides of the road stand waiting for the return of the prince. Two large Union Jacks hang down outside one of the terraced houses with bunting hanging down over the doorway. Two children wave their Union Jacks.
At Crossway Court the prince comes out of a house accompanied by Alan Kilburn making his way back towards the street, he admires the garden as he passes. He comes along a different path and makes his way into a second house.
