General views follow of an oil rig construction yard. General views of the Scottish highland landscape and farmland. Pipeline construction is underway at Cruden Bay. Piipes are laid in water, guided by divers. Pipeline constructiontakes place over Strathmore farmland. The drilling platform is tugged out to sea on a raft from Cromarty. Subsequently, it is launched from raft into sea. A tracking shot onboard large boat in stormy high seas follows. General views of work modules being placed onto drilling platform at sea, followed by interior and exterior shots oil pipeline control centre. Diagrams to illustrate how it is anchored to the sea bed. The bottom part of the platform is laid into position on the sea bed. The film ends with shots of the Radio Station and Central Control Unit commanding the oil to flow, and of the power stations that receive it.
