Sitting in the Officers Club at RAF Acklington, Dennis Ramshaw speaks with six women who form part of an international wife’s club with each of their husbands being stationed at Acklington, Mrs Maria Heinzen who is from Italy talks about being part of this international community and her only problem having been on the base three years is the cold, all the other women agree. Mrs Ginie Armstrong from French explains that her only complaint is not being able to get foods from home such as veal and artichokes. They explain to Dennis what it is they all talk about, a woman believed to be from Singapore says that she understands the Geordie accent, they all laugh when she explains that her son speaks with a Geordie accent.
