There are primary age children playing with water in a classroom as well as using plasticine and bricks. Some children are feeding a tortoise and caring for a rabbit. The students then explore the outdoors on a nature trip which includes activities such as pond dipping and bark rubbing. Much of the local landscape is featured, and children can be seen picking wild flowers and breaking stones in order to study geology. The students' next lesson is history, and the cleric stands at the lectern introducing a history trip. The children arrive at Fountains Abbey on a field trip during which a voice over explains how the children are being taught during the trip.
