The Holmes Whiteley family play cricket in the garden of Rhyddings House in Pool. W.C Cockram, head of Queens Road School in Burley (now called Royal Park School), 1902-1921, steps up to bat first. Mr David H. Whiteley's sister Jean also bats. Next Mr Whiteley's mother nee Kate Cockram steps up to bat with W.C Cockrams youngest daughter Doris acting as wicket keeper. They then reverse positions. A small boy, John Whiteley , David H. Whiteley's brother, takes a turn at batting (his son Peter, later played cricket for Yorkshire). The smallest boy is Mr D.H Whiteley's cousin and the woman in the hat with a small boy is Eva Kelly. The party also play on a swing in the same garden.
