Title: World in Action [on slate]
Title: North Sea Oil: Smith's M'Boro
Consists of unedited footage of the construction of the Ocean Prince, the first semi-sub oil rig in the North Sea. General views of large metal tubing lifted into place by crane and fitted by workers at Smiths Dock.
A model of the rig is carried onto the dock and discussed by 2 engineers, whilst men continue to work inside the giant supports for the platform.
A man walks around the dock area. General views follow of the River Tees and 5 large cranes at the dock, St. John the Evangelist church on Marton Road visible in the background.
A second squence records the speeches and formal signing of the contract for the rig with media attending. Two men shake hands and look at a technical drawing of the Ocean Prince.
